Structural EIT (Engineer-in-Training)

What you will do
- Design and check steel, concrete, wood and cold-formed steel members and connections to NBC 2020 / OBC, CSA S16, CSA A23.3, CSA O86 and CSA S136, under the supervision of a P.Eng.
- Design foundations, anchor bolts, sign structures, mezzanines, platforms and equipment supports for industrial and manufacturing clients.
- Prepare calculation packages and permit drawings, and help respond to municipal review comments.
- Attend site visits and field reviews, and write inspection reports with photos.
- Coordinate with our mechanical, architectural and construction teams.
What you bring
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil or structural engineering.
- EIT registration with PEO, or eligibility and a plan to apply.
- 0 to 4 years of structural design experience; recent graduates are welcome.
- Working knowledge of NBC / OBC loads and CSA S16 and A23.3.
- AutoCAD and at least one analysis program (S-FRAME, SAFI, ETABS, RISA or similar).
- Clear written English for calculations and reports.
Nice to have
- Revit or Tekla; connection design; FEA experience.
- A valid Ontario driver’s licence for site visits.
